Fate brought us together this way
We were meant to be
Lately I brush him every day
This dog comforts me
Just you and me baby I say
Poking with his snout
He leans into me huggingly
Though once bred to kill
Incapable of thuggery
With comedic skill
Inescapable muggery
Charm to save the day
And with his capability
For love anyway
This dog taught me a lot about
Solidarity
May no harm come to us my friend
Old but so am I
Together as the years go by
Glad to be us still
