Here I Am



Witchcraft in your words she said
That got my attention
I who wrote those words she read
Thought how gratifying
Like Robert Browning dying

Wanting to live instead
Haunted by an intention
To write more poetry
Feeling good I could I would
Dare to be understood

Happy this happened to me
Now somehow not yet dead
Though old enough I could be
Because from then I knew
Who I was and what to do

Meant to I went for it
Sent through hell but I got through
Intent now I will get
Through madness fear and plague year
So here I am still here
