Meister Eckhart only one letter away
From Eckarts who made me better by
Their love offering to my DNA
Said if you only say Gott sei Dank (like I
Do) if that is all you ever pray
Saying thank God is enough even so
I had to lose it all to understand why
Trouble is what taught me how to say
This echo of Eck(h)arts of long ago
I say a lot more but more or less
Saying Gott sei Dank I am not saying no
Praying anyway is saying yes
To possible impossibility
As it turns out now having learned the hard way
Letting go of what has gone I know
How life goes on in spite of everything
Knowing I am growing I go too
Some of us had to go mad for the meaning
To mean us with nothing left between
Enlightening though frightening to grow
To be left alone with what you know you mean
Bereft of illusion but being
Left seeing nothing but possibility
Left alone with God I say thank you
Like Meister Eckhart and Eckarts unseen
Saying Gott sei Dank now (like I do)
