Nilla has a new friend from a local rescue. Eileen named her Kali. I call her “Weasel”

Pull and tug On living room rug Often a friend is all we need She’s small but mighty Perhaps a bit flighty And doesn’t cost much to feed She nips your toes And licks your nose But no one seems to mind Tho she’s not Pete She’s awfully sweet Filling voids that he left behind Now the pack is flush And there is no rush To change the ratio of this group Three girls and me It’s plain to see The dynamics of this coop Copyright 2010 Patrick Granfors

I used to call my old dachshund weasel. Her name was Dobelia! Quiet the character she was.

Wait a few months and she'll be bigger than a weasel. She learns fast. . .ask Patrick for extra treats . . . she won't say no. Big love in a small package!

Awesome and family-friendly poem! The dogs from the rescue shelters are so very often the ones who feed our soul with compassion and forgiveness, Patrick...all species of women should have "two names" and in your household of two writers, Kali has a pen name Weasel...be well you and Eileen.
