Terrier Watch

Six days of rain has our pent up pooch near the edge of insanity (that would be our insanity).

Poem Artwork

I have a bit of sage advice

Watch out for the Terrier

Mixed or pure it matters not

I’ve now become much warier

No sock or shoe is safe it seems

Nor beer nor Christmas Bow

An endless parade of all her toys

Is but a warm up for her show

She is part goat I do believe

She climbs furniture with ease

Or perhaps part flying squirrel

Using chair backs like they’re trees

And she must be part piranha

The way her jaws snap when we play

Though her nips are usually gentle

She can get carried away

No ankle in the house is safe

Her herding instinct strong

She stays wound up in highest gear

Chasing chew bones all day long

Then finally around bedtime

Rambunctious loses steam

As she snuggles up with master

Doing mischief in a dream

Holy Terror Alert! The best kind. She sounds like she takes after her master. Precious.

What a precious pooch, look at the eyes, you can see the mischief right there, I think she is picking up from you Patrick, but then the world be a pretty dull place without mischief, or whatever the pooches name is, bless ya!

She'd probably love our little rat terrier, Mr. Jack. He is also non-stop mischief maker from dawn to dark. But I can't train him to fetch me a beer - darn!

Damn! Hope that's not a wasted beer! I like the use of the word "rambunctious." I'm not sure I've ever seen it in print before.

Peace,
Dayvid

Funny, I thought you might be talking about my son. Or, alternatively, my husband.
Happy Holidays,
Christine

that photo could as well been of me after 6 days of cabin fever, crushed beercan in mouth, raindrenched to the bone, doing mischief in more than a dream!

Those not in love with dogs have no idea of the enjoyment these furry critters bring into our lives. As a long, longtime lover of these furry critters I know that each brings forth a new set of characteristics, and you certainly hit the jackpot with your little black and white kid.

Based upon the photo, I'd say that you've at least taught her to fetch. It don't get much better'n that. Nice write Patrick, Thanks Dick

What Sage said to the enth degree...be happy your rain is only just that, it could be snow though probably up in the mountains they are getting just that...we have been lucky this year so far regards the white stuff...e

You told me to choose a dog that didn't have a tail curled over her back. . . oops, the black-white fur bewitched me! Think of all the laughs we get after a few curse words.

Ha! I'd like to see an animated screenplay written on this like the movie Babe...and in the end, the Terrier catches the bad guys! Good one, Patrick...It's been good being in your company this year. You put humor in all of our lives so we can get through the day. Happy Holidays to you and Eileen. This Bud's for you! Cheers!

Love,
Sage
