If you have a week, take a tour through the history of London

Poem Artwork

With a past that travels

through generations of old

where the Romans built walls

and traders built gates.

Where two rivers crossed

only one survived

The Thames still flows

The Fleet it hides.

Through plagues and fires

that sent the rats fleeing

chased out the old

bought in new planing.

Where the format of governments

was set in stone

and Kings and Queens

ruled on thrones.

There beneath do the railways run

above a city

of history and fun.

Actors, artists, musicians all come,

London attracts everyone.

Stations, footpaths,

boats and planes,

children on bikes

riding in parks,

as statutes look over

the city lights,

Churchill waves

as if to say goodnight.

Tuberculosis: The Greatest Story Never Told by Frank Ryan

The heroic story of how a small group of people, few of them TB experts, found the cure for the greatest killer in human history. But the battle needed to be extended to all sufferers. Why have we failed to take the miracle to the developing world?
