The mind plays tricks, creates it realities unseen.

Poem Artwork

You are left alone

peace you feel

on your own

yet not entirely true

for you alone

are subjected to thoughts

some welcome you smile

then the irksome arrives.

What was that noise?

a thought flies through

rattling your cage

as your peace it breaks through

tampers with your peace

it will not go away

you think the noise came from the hall

a thought say's.

Enter at your risk

a voice in your head entreats

how do you know

who it is?

Enter at your risk

it taunts you to peer

as the mind plays tricks

edged along by fear.

You edge towards the door

unsure what it was

as you turn the handle

the voice in your head laughs

hahaha you fool

all your futures are past

soon you will be gone from this place

I tell you once more

enter at your risk.

As the door flies open

persuaded by foot

you shout out aloud

'Who is it! anyone here?'

Then you spy

there on the mat

a leathlet from a takeaway

called Everythings Good.

Indeed at certain age, "The mind plays tricks, creates it realities unseen", yes loneliness is a dreadful thing! Thanks for sharing, John!

The mind playing tricks on us. So easy to happen. And the ending is wonderful because that's generally the way things are behind the unknown door.
