Poem Artwork

ricky-racked headboard

carries the centurions

history-conception is

that respite between sliding slats

delicately positioned

so as to not scuff vanilla hardwood.

she hates laminate surfaces.

scratching her head

remembers mother

a father - the world

where sex did not exist.

little soldier lifts unsoiled

feet towards a heaven

compares toes-singing piggies

she's demonstrating wrinkles

why they are special

loves expose’ of person.

he chuckles and grabs

picture books. pointing

at plastic photos before

poking silent cheeks

miere…miere, smiling

with her barely lit eye.

century half past the hour

and there's life asking to live again.

Donna,

Concur with Regis, raises memories of emotion and ghosts from our own lives - could see the acres of hardwood in my life and smell Murphy (oil soap) - they say smell is the most powerful of senses - a certain odor will snap a memory like a photograph - well done!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Sheltered childhood living furniture psychology - don't mar your chastity, don't make the bed springs squeak, no blemishes, good girls don't...varnished interior as well as exterior...birthed asexual scratched vaginal with forbidden fingernails polished with the perfection of acres of vanilla hardwood...so many ways to interpret furniture and the psychology of lamination...clear overcoat finish, Donna...I do love the way you write these poems...very structured and unique...heartfelt always...be well.

Love,
Sage
