IT DOESN'T MATTER

I don't usually make reference to the scripture verse which follows every sharing I've placed on this site. However, this one time, I am asking that the reader please take the time to look up the scripture reference which appears at the end of this work.

One never knows when, where or how they will leave this world. Only God knows this. If we can accept this, then we can come to terms with the fact that there may not be loving friends and family at one's bedside when the end comes. Also, there is the possibility that their death may not be an easy one with them 'gently' passing from this earth to their eternal home. One does certainly hope for these things but, who knows what God has already destined? Thinking about this should not upset us but, by faith, entice one to press-on as we do our very best in this 'war' that rages down here...thus, embracing the perfect will of God.
Keeping this in mind, let me say; however my God sees fit for conditions to be at the time that I take my last breath - this is my epitaph...

Poem Artwork

It doesn't matter...

if the sun shines

perhaps, that day will be rainy...

or storm for a time

It doesn't matter...if...

when I sleep

that there not be

an atmosphere of...peace

For, however I shall come...

to leave this wretched place

it only matters when I wake...

that I shall see ...'His'...Blessed Face

2nd Tim 4:7-8

Oh what blessed consolation Joyce! For I just recently experienced the passing of my father inlaw, who was also my Pastor and mentor too! What a blessing to read these uplifting words of hope!

Excellent write Joyce, and may the Lord continue to make you the pen of a ready writer filled with His inspirations, blessing and ministering to each reader in such a personal way. Thank you Joyce for sharing and caring so much about others!

Yes, to 'see His face' and be welcomed home ... that is what matters, not whether it rains or shines ... but how we lead our lives matters in order that we should be welcomed. Well written, thoughtful and inspiring. ~Elizabeth

Joyce, you are right. Sometimes we forget that life is a journey and despite its difficulties our final destination is all that matters. Thanks for the reminder.

Joyce,
We leave, we move on, and while the circumstances of leaving may not be pleasant do they really matter in the end when we travel to another hope, another adventure, a reward?

Oh the thoughts. It is sad to think of being alone at the end. However, it is sadder still being alone here on earth. Even though I know I do have God in my life, so I am not really "alone". But at the end, the joyful thought would be that of going HOME to HIM, our heavenly father.

River of Memories: An Appalachian Boyhood by David Thompson

For a time, I perched myself on a flat rock, comparing my life with the Guyandotte River. Just as its tributaries replenish it daily, changing it in some small—sometimes great—degree, so have the day-to-day occurrences of life changed me. Like the ri
