Yes...his name was Judas
the Savior walked and talked with him
but seeing past his pretense of prudist
Jesus knew his heart...his whim
So evident was this at the last sup
when Jesus bid him, 'do quickly what you must do'
thus, Judas having received the sop
with evil intent...out the door he flew
It would seem that satan had won
it would seem that now there was no more cloak
but when Judas accepted the 30 pieces sum
Salvation peeped out...and lucifer choked !
Then came the final act of deceit
the betrayer came cowering in a mist
God's perfect will, Judas carried out...complete
he sought out Christ and planted a kiss!
How grateful for that kiss I am...
how I thank God for that treacherous act!
now I recognize 'vileness'...and can take a stand
for faith alone will buffet ...satan's willful attacks
Some say with glee that Judas did show
how cruel...an evil mind could be
some give a bow...to a comrade so low
but this is the picture I see...
Judas was a part of the plan from the beginning
he was placed...just for that task
Jesus never doubted His winning
twas His robe of humanity that showed a troubled mask
The end of Judas is what I spy...
doing what he wanted, the traitor refused to see
he could have repented...but rejected to even try
he did things his way...and hung himself on a tree
The Gift of Salvation unfolded on a hill
Jesus endured this for us...and then He slept
but on that glorious Sunday morning...duty fulfilled
He Rose...the promise for a 'Messiah' kept!
Now, this is the point that I'm making...
Jesus is the antedote...for every grit
He chose to suffer and die...and with His waking
we can overcome pits...tho' not easy...I will admit
Thank God for Judas?...sure I do!
but not for the same reasons as others choose...
Judas's sinful act...has become some’s excuse
but I'm glad for it too...his act turned this sinner loose!
Now I am so...free!
Free! to say no and let God fight
Free! to pray for strength to do what's right
Free! to reject darkness and choose light
Free to rise from errs for, being human...I surely might
But most of all...
Free to claim the victory over hell!
that was wrought on The Cross that mandated day
Free to enter Everlasting Life's quell
for Jesus has opened the way!
So, Judas...yes, indeed...
I Sure...Would Like To Thank You!

Jesus was born to save all of mankind.
Nothing on earth could be so profound and grand!
Well done, Joyce!

Paul writing to the Corinthians, 1 Corinthians Chapter 15 verse 5. Some 15 years after the death of Jesus Paul is led to share that Jesus rose from the dead, was seen of Cephas, and then of the twelve. Paul seemed to know that Jesus was associated with 12 followers, and would thus believe he rose and returned to those 12. Paul obviously in his day had no clue that there was some defection in his ranks. Decades later a story of a betrayal was created, given the name "Judas" the Greek spelling of the nation of the Jews- and the writings of those later works called Gospels insist Jesus appeared to the eleven. One of those Gospels states that Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss, another that Jesus simply identified himself to the guards. Judas is not said to have betrayed information, he is just necessary to point out the location of Jesus and which one in the group actually was Jesus. How could that possibly have been necessary?
Jesus was the story teller that everybody knew, who huge crowds came to hear. No introduction necessary, and all knew where to find him.
Unlike Paul, I have heard of the Judas story- but partly thanks to Paul I dismiss it as nonsense.
The Judas story does not lead to love, but aids the cause of hatred against the Jews.
Honest examination of all evidence is what can lead us to the best understanding of Jesus possible, and that is what I am seeking- always.

That shows us that crime really doesn't pay!
