I silently sat at my desk
Selected my favorite quill
Placed before me a blank sheet
Of pure white parchment
Wrote four words
“ A Poem Was Born”
Sat there baffled
Staring into nowhere
My creative mind ceased
Just couldn’t think
Of anything else to contribute
To my present thoughts.
I folded the Sheet before me
With the four words written
Placed it
Into an addressed envelope
Mailed it to her
She answered the letter
Asked where was the poem
Said, she searched the envelope
For further contents
There were none
Was this a Joke?
I Replied
No My Sweetest Darling
If God in all His Glory
Wished I added to those
Few words
I would have complied
He said onto me
within my thoughts
“A Poem Was Born”
On the day her mother
Gave Birth to her.
