Mariah calls me into the TV room as the Golden Globes are on and she said "The fossils are out tonight."
Besides...
It's getting too moody here in the Den tonight. I'm calling for some levity and then....intermission.

See Ya'll at the awards Sugahs!

I went to visit WalMart
To get some things on sale
I had these good intentions
Since my groceries went stale
A scrumtilicious dessert
Something out of sight
By the time I'd made it to the checkpout
I'd lost my appetite
Walmart smells so funky
Like something not quite baked
Kind'a like old rubber
And a greasy funnel cake
No matter my intentions
And I'll give Walmart her due
But the smell is always nasty
Like week old Brunswick stew.

Bunch a wet behind the ears newbees too. I dig the fossils, they are archaelogical for their stamina--irreplaceable. Like Sly--one more time for the money.

Your poem was a beautifly timed and ryhmed period piece. Left me nostalgic. Smells slightly better than a nursing home.

This reminds me of the advice the old man gave to young Basil, a charachter in one of F. Scott Fitzgerald's short stories who was about to go to his first carnival. The old man told the excited boy: "Just remember, don't get too close." He was talking about the crowd....

We have no less than six Walley Worlds in the immediate area, each with it's own personality from Soddy-Daisy redneck to third world experience...all best left unto themselves. I don;lt need anything that bad...unless it's 2 am....LOL
Cute one but I don;t get close enough to have noticed an odor!

Funny you made Walmart a "female" Belle.

I have never been in any store that feels so utterly oppressed as does this one. No one seems happy, and many of the women look like they drag aroung invisible ball and chains.

I have a theory about it. And it involves a powerful spiritual stronghold. Did you know that I saw the very first Wallmart built in Rogers Arkansas in 1978. My first wife worked for them. She hated it!

LOLOL, Susan,

Wally World might not like this......but it's the truth. Bet ol' Sam Walton would be rollin' over in his grave with the spot on observations in this astute bit of humor! Well done!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Eewww, haven't had that experience yet...but had a similar one at a local grocery store! Hope I don't encounter that at WalMart...and then again, it might help one to save money.
