This poem came about as I was listening to a friend of mine from Beaumont, Texas brag about how many things were bigger and better in Texas. I was compelled to write this verse. It is dedicated to Don...my old buddy from Texas.

Can Texans...

Are they bigger in Texas and better than most?
Is it easier to take them regardless of boast?
Can they fit into something smaller than them?
Do I believe most of all that I get from him?
Will I have what he needs when it comes down to proof?
Would it still work if passions remained aloof?
Are desires that super from Texans that brag?
Can women remain lovers without being a nag?
And can stars beat your brains out once Texans have burst...
Through holes of lusts playing upon Texans with thirst?
Will walking be trouble when wet things run wild...
Upon Texans with big things..like inches for miles?
Can there be this here heaven when Texans slam home...
Their passions of pleasures to never more roam?

Funny thing happened on the way to Fulton, Texas. I took some of my "Mr. Wiffle Lures" to Texas to catch Speckled Trout, I had four inch lures and six inch lures, we wanted to catch ten pound trout, a trout that size can swallow a bait at least a pound in weight and one of over ten to twelve inches long. All the Texans there told me that even my four inch lure was bigger that they liked to fish with, I pulled out the six inch one instead and made a cast, let it fall into some oyster shells, felt the tug and set the hook on a Ten Pound Speckled Trout. They then all asked me for some of those baits. Seems not all Texans think Bigger is Better, when it is at least for big trout.
