She calls me,
Even as I sit here,
Warm and dry before this keyboard.
Her voice is soft,
In the back of my mind,
Yet I can understand every word.
She sings a song of aqua blue,
Of starry black nights,
That stretch from here to forever.
She whispers in my inner ear,
She taunts me with her cool depths,
She has the advantage of being clever.
She has the songs that stir my soul,
She echoes the pounding of rollers in my mind,
She mesmerizes with her aqua eyes.
And so I listen,
Trying to ignore her dangerous call,
But I might as well try to escape the skies.
Give me a fast ship,
And a brisk wind to carry her on,
Give me the freedom of the ocean waves.
She has my heart,
Has stolen my soul,
Her song in my mind engraves.
Rapture, Rapture,
Rhapsody,
The calling gulls,
The song of the Sea.
And 'neath ever changing wave,
There lies my tomb,
There lies my grave.
Yet in her womb,
Renewed am gave.
And so the siren sings,
Back there in my deeper thoughts,
Where I cannot escape her tune.
I will answer,
When the weather warms,
Which will ne'er be too soon.
She has my soul,
She has my life,
She has taken all good sense away.
The siren calls and I can hear,
The siren calls and I will follow,
And roam those waters again someday.
Rapture, Rapture,
Rhapsody,
The calling gulls,
The song of the sea.
And 'neath ever changing wave,
There lies my tomb,
There lies my grave.
Yet in her womb,
Renewed am gave.

I'm glad it's the ocean's siren singing to you and not the tornado sirens 'round here. :) The pull of the ocean is very strong, I know...one cruise, and I'm ready for another! LOL Beautiful melody you pen. Take me with you, when you go!
