Here's the way I feel about mine. I must remind, the way I feel, in front of the Lord it might be a different appeal. But for some reason I think the Lord is a good mind reader so this might be it, minus the short word chit.
If my life story
that is with very little glory
would play out in history
containing quite a bit of mystery
I'd feel quite ashamed
how the devil gamed
turned around and inflamed
my human fragility
almost destroying my tranquility
directing my being toward hostility
But I'd defend myself before the Lord
Remind him that he's the one that
cut the cord
I didn't ask for none of this chit
one day I was born and that was it
I'll be dammed if I quit
Zoom me up to heaven
or throw me down to hell
I've caught hell on this earth as well
I might feel right at home
with the rest of those from Rome
Lord I don't think I belong
so I sing a sad song
I'd view right into my own story
then apologize to the creator
and say I'm sorry
for not being the perfect puppet
surely I was part muppet
but more of a man
actually I tried to tell the devil to stuff it
Lord cut me some slack if you can
If not go ahead with your holy plan
I am not a religious person, not in the slightest, but if you can see your shortcomings and if you can see the assets that God, Jesus, The Lord, whatever you wish to call your Maker, if you can recognize your weaknesses and your strengths and use what you have to better yourself, and to better whatever humanity you come in contact with, then, Mister OnepoetGem, in my opinion you're a pretty good guy.
