Somali Women have been inflicted with the worst of atrocities during the civil war in somalia.

Poem Artwork

Single mothers
Mothers of orphans
Widows of the century
They are Somali women
They are victims of war
Oh Lord
May the doors of horror be closed
And the windows of hope be opened
May the prison gates be crashed
And the lost freedom be restored
Amen.

This is a touching and much needed prayer, Abdi-Noor. The innocent are always the ones most affected by war. Powerful words!
Take care,
Sherry

Abdi-Noor,

Amen Abdi-Noor. With such simple lines you have made a strong statement.

Abdi-Noor,

It is always the women who suffer the most, they and the children........

"O Lord
May the doors of horror be closed
And the windows of hope be opened
May the prison gates be crashed
And the lost freedom be restored
Amen."

My prayer, as well. Wrenchingly, hauntingly penned.

(((HUGS))), love and prayer, Karla.

Yes I read about the atrocities of war on women and on small girls. It seems "man" has an apetite for sadism. Victor
