The Shia-Sunni killings made me write this poem. As a Moslem I feel ashamed seeing moslems killing other moslems or even orchestrating a war against non-moslems for reasons related to political interest or religious fanaticism.
You naughty soldier of the devil
Put me not on chains please
Let me enjoy the eternal freedom
Bequeathed by God, the Almighty
And guarded by His timeless power
I know I can be your prime target
As you hunt for those humble hearts
That are free from odium and hatred
In your books of clanship and identities
You lure the reader to follow you blindly
Even in matters of divinity and religion
You delve into the souls God’s servants
To wreak havoc on their spiritual fabric
One time forging unity among them
To engage in a holy jihad against non-moslems
And driving a wedge between them other times
To dismantle them into fragments of horror
Instilling them with feelings of revenge-taking
Bombing each other under the name of Allah
Sunnis enchanting with the killings of the Shia
And Shia delighted with the news a Sunni’s death
Though you surrounded Islam with a sea of revulsion
I take sanctuary in an island of spiritual harmony
Solemnly protected by the angels of love and peace
I am a Moslem by faith, not Shia or Sunni or otherwise
And a human being by identity, not belonging to a tribe
Soldiers of the Devil I simply say to you:
Hell with your bombardments and blood -shed
Bravo Abdi Noor! We should all call to account our leaders who have gone astray from what they once taught. It makes no difference Muslim Jew Christian, they all fall short of what God intended and they must be made aware that we do not agree with their getting into bloody wars for political reasons.
Abdi-Noor, to feel such shame for those who pevert Islam should bring us all to repentence. I am no better than you; the shame of the Crusades hangs over the "Christian" Western world, though brave souls stood against violence in the name of Christ, and so often paid with their lives under the sword or in the fire. We can stand together, and reject any killing in the name of God, or God is not a God of the dead, but of the living....
Do not allow their hatred to bring hate to your heart, do not let them pollute you. Instead, we must do the impossible; to love them, as we love all people. Turn the cheek, Abdi-Noor; I must re-learn to do that each and every day...
'To hell with your bombardment and bloodshed'? Maybe that is a foretaste of what hell is really like; to exist forever trapped in hate and fear..... horrible!!

A very powerful message indeed. Thank you very much for being the voice of global peace brother. Useless killing should stop everywhere. Life is the most important thing on earth. It is a gift from God, and I beleive in the Islamic teaching that 'Killing one life amounts to killing humanity-all people.

Very powerful and well said my friend. We are all entitiled to our own beliefs. I could never imagine a just and loving God ever condoning hate and destruction. These people seem to use the name of God to fuel their vendettas. I love your honesty, it is a very admirable quality.
