The American Model and actress Angelina Jolie visted Somali refugee camps as a good will Ambassador of UNHCR to rasie funds for the starving refugee children who have been denied to have any right other than dying either form mortar attacks or hunger and disease. A child in the refugee camp is speaking with her. Here is what he says:
You are as thin and skinny as we are
You have starved yourself intentionally
To meet the Hollywood weight standards
But ours hasn´t come by choice as yours
You were avoiding food to come near you
But we were denied to have food near us
We are the victims of war and conflict
We were driven out of Somalia by warlords
Extremists bombed us like Hitler´s Nazi
We are the children we are the refugees
Making safely to the camp was no easy trek
We thank you jolie for coming to see us
You have a heart as large as life itself
Glowing brightly like a moon on a desert
Lifting our spirits to a height unimaginable
Injecting souls with a breath of fresh hope
Thank you Jolie but please don´t let us down
Many times over a model had paid us a visit
Sparking off a huge light of joy in our souls
But later on reduced to a mere flicker of fire-fly
Dying away in the shadows of despondency
As we sank in the depths of endless promises
SAD but this is so true, this tears at MY HEART Abdi!

SHE is there for a REASON and her children were given to her, for all the SMART reasons that can "HELP" many! When making the right choices!
It is sad to see that she has become so thin... I hope that she doesn't let the children down. A few years ago she went to Haiti and shared peace and hope there...it was wonderful to see the way people responded to her. She helped to set up programs to help clean up Haiti. The thing that surprised me was that the Haitian people responded to her and for a time at least they developed pride in their country. The UN certainly never had that affect...
Promises, there is a word that should be a four letters word...and unmentionable to both.
It seems that promises are not to be granted but broken, I wish people was a little more honest and say, "I give you my broken promises" because either way the promised will be forgotten anyway.

I did not realize Anjelina had become so skinny. I haven't seen her in movies for some time. She doesn't look very good in this photo. However, she's there and trying to help so my heart and prayers go out to her. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Abdi-Noor. Love and peace,
She's too skinny; she's not that pretty. She looks just about as bad as the refugees. I know she is trying to help, but what kind of message is she sending to young girls?? I wonder....I think she'd be prettier if she were more "normal" sized. I also wish Hollywood would stop pushing this image on people; not everyone was designed to be that way.... Sad....
