Hi friends. I have so much missed your postings but I hope you are all doing well.
Today i post the African Refugee who flees from war in his own country and seeks protection in a nearby country and from there travels to Europe only to become another refugee in another camp in a new land. Many refugees die on the way and only few of them would make safely to the shores of Europe. I have also posted an article along the same lines. Please have a look at it.
Painting by Dr. Osman Buwe in ST. Paul Clinc, North Carolina. He is an artist with a distinction. I deeply admire his paintings.
If I stay inside my shack
I feel unpleasantly cold
Out in the city market
everything is expensive
and quite unaffordable
My ailing pocket weeps
at the sight of the prices
If I hit the road
Misery will visit me
Police put chains on me
I have no Kipanda or an ID
I am a poor Somali Refugee
My status can not protect me
If I listen to the world news
Wires transmit shocking events
War grabs major News headlines
Wrangles dominate Somali talks
Shooting starts all over again
No peace in the motherland
No hope in refugee camps
A way out is adventure
I wade into the dark sea
Europe is my destination
Abdi-Noor,
It's good to hear from you again, it's been a while, but with you it's never out of sight, out of mind.
Thank you for this timely reminder of our inequalities and cruel legacies, yours is a voice that needs to be heard way above the hired public speaker with vested interest.
This is quite an amazing poem. I can feel what this refugee is feeling through your amazing words. I have missed you, and glad to be reading you once again. May the spirit of the Universe fulfill all your dreams for peace and hope.
Powerfully penned, Abdi-Noor, especially in this season of reaching out in peace to your fellow man. Whatever happened to compassion? Well done, and welcome back, I've missed you.
BLIND!
Ross Miller doesn’t have anything to live for anymore. An RPG attack in Afghanistan left him blind and he thought helpless.
He tried going home but that didn’t work out. Luke and Amber Owens who were both wounded in the same
Action-packed adventure that will keep you turning the pages.
When an explosion on board Transcon's flight Three-Seven disables their flight control systems, it's up to a group of "Angels" to save the passengers and crew from crashing into
Good poem but in order 2 give it universal application(to apply it 2 all refs in thse situations all over the world) I'd make 2 changes
1.I am a poor (somali) refugee- I' eliminate Nationality
2.Wrangles dominate (somali) talks-I'l replace Som with "Their"
Reason:To avoid generalizations which could be deliver unintended connotations
Nyway, I like ur poems n follow ur page wth passion
