Poem Artwork

not knowing if I should be happy or sad
everytime I think back to the day we met
it seems like there is always something bad
in everything that is just ooooohhhhh so good

but I keep returning to each moment in my head
as if it were just yesterday when my blues turned
into a fiery red hot poker of endless love

I remember how our eyes touched
and our hearts were set free
like two magnificent butterflies lighting one then the other
meeting in a garden, surrounded by natures trees
sharing a few moments in a lovers solitude

our quiet love sparking a world of electricity
and the air heavy, damp and cold

but love, reacted in our fusion
like a forest of kiln dried oaks
turning art out of clay

or a bunch of saplings dripping kerosene on an open fire
our souls warmed up enough to endure
the pain of days gone by
of the loneliness that isn’t necessary
but demanded none-the-less

it wasn’t just me loving you
or a hope for lustful lonely night turned to stone

it was life, as ours is meant to be lived
hard, painful, and a true test of faith

Sara,
When you write of love, you write from your heart. And that's one beautiful place.
I loved every line of this.

Pleasue and pain of looking back.
How oft' our dreams are shipwrecked. Yet we always find a better ship, hopefully not to hit the rocks again..
