A thorn can be more beautiful
than a rose, if we understand,
“What it actually is”, and
perceive its inherent objective,
that very objective of shielding
a rose from the sinner’s grip.
Thus I feel a thorn is as
beautiful as the rose, for it is
the thorn that defends the rose
and allows us to view the rose
from an intuitive perspective.
An interesting perspective, Bhuwan. One can even get a splinter from sliding down a rainbow ... we must take the good with the bad. All are lessons on this human journey to awareness.

Some wise philosophical thinking here, Bhuwan. Thank you for sharing this offering. Love and peace to you from your friend in British Columbia, Canada. Regis
Well Bhuwan, this "Rose" most assuredly possesses some thorns both as measure of protection and strength - for not only does the thorn protect the delicate flower - it also affords the stem the strength it needs to hold the flower up. One last thought, the thorns are SO necessary because in point of fact, they draw one's attention to the flower.
Also, were a "sinner" to grip the rose, is it not possible that despite the prick, they might be transformed by the beauty of the flower? Perhaps then, the thorn then protects the "sinner" from the sin? Just a few thoughts.

I see your poem in a wider sense. Thorns are like lessons learned in life. As Socrates taught: "Life unexamined is not worth living." Loved your perspective.
Cute, reminds me of the episode of "Sawga the Chinese Cat" I watched yesterday with the girls. Sawga got a rose thorn stuck in her paw, after running around and not watching where she was going. And it took a wise old turtle to show her how beautiful the roses were as long as you slowed down and took the time to smell the flowers. Your poem fits well with that theme.

I love the concept and the profound truth of reality in this one Bhuwan..........
That thorn can be called "Love" which jealously guards the object of it's desire and seeks to protect her from all harm, thus allowing her beauty and radiance to shine out for all to see and enjoy with him! He is a mighty Defender and Protector indeed... A true Knight to His Lady! LOVE the beautiful Rose in the visual - stunning! Thank you, Bhuwan. Kate xx
