Everyday I wait for the Sun to rise
And cast its spell on my eyes
To rinse me with rays softly warm each
While I see all its glory and power
In a walk watching the wilderness
Feel my heart leap with joy
As nature’s air conditioner works
Strengthening bones and skin
I Feel the warmth of the fragrant breeze
Listen to sound of the dry guzzle of leaves
The fresh blooms of tiny neem flowers
F Falling lightly onto my hair
Then long after the Sun has gone
I Still feel its touch in the darkness
A When the silver moon paces slowly
As the day gradually gives way to night
While in ocean, the waves stir to make shores white
The Sun with two mothers the night and the day
Finally fix gaze for onset of dawn
Part 2 The story of the birth of Karna
I wonder now of a Mahabharata epic story
Of the life of a young and lovely virgin princess Kunti
A King’s only daughter
To whom was born Karna from the demi Sun god Surya
So happened when she made happy the blessed Sage Durvasa
For she attended on him as a maidservant
Although she was a King’s daughter!
He was so pleased, he offered her a benediction
Gave her the power to invoke any deity
With the curiousity of a girl she called for the Sun god Surya
Who at once came and said “ O Beautiful Kunti ,
Our meeting cannot be fruitless
So let me keep my seed in your womb”
Kunti hesitated as she was not yet married
But as it came to pass
Soon Karna , the son of the Sun god was born out of her ear
So as to keep her virginity undisturbed.
She still got so frightened
She kept him in a basket and put him in the ocean quickly
A carpenter soon found the child and brought him up as his son
For Karna had extraordinary powers
He was the son of the mighty Sun
He was one of great warriors
But fought against misfortunes
Al through life
He was known to be generous and courageous
In energy he is equal to fire
In speed he is like wind
In wrath he resembles the destroyer himself
Endured with might, his arms are large
His chest is i broad, he is sensitive
He can be invisible, he is a hero
With every accomplishment of a warrior
Karna’s had his armour like that of Achilles styx
Or the mythical Irish warrior Ferdiad ‘s horny skin
Was still betrayed to death
Karna ascends to heaven after his illustrious earthly life
warms the heart. Ummm. I'll take romance. And soft music. And a little wine.
Enjoyed both parts of your Sun story.
