Acid Rain

Hot, angry, cascading tears fall …
my face centered inside a squall.
Lies spread like mayonnaise on white bread
why does my daughter wish me dead?
She can’t believe a word I’ve said
so comes acid rain
on a cheeky plain.
Eroding all hope
this matter is slain.

Divisive stories never cease.
How does she make them with such ease?
You’d think she never heard of me.
She pushes buttons I can’t see.
It seems she’s my worst enemy
so fall acid tears
drizzling years.
Is she high on dope
or feeling those beers?

She makes me feel most unworthy
of peace, love, from anybody.
Her love is tearing me apart.
You’d think a daughter would have heart!
Sliced by her tongue … fall in a cart.
Here comes acid rain
my love thrives in vain.
She’s deaf to my pleas
and drives me insane.

I can’t live amongst her rumors
that grow like cancerous tumors.
She’s forgotten who’s the daughter …
I stumbled, sacrificed, slaughtered
our communications altered
acid tears rain down
without noises, sound.
I pray to stay, cope
but the hurt’s profound.

So comes acid rain
on a cheeky plain.
