Based upon the Scriptures from Revelation.. Chapters 21& 22. Above, the illustration can never do justice to what is prepared, as finite minds are thus limited, but for the purpose of depicting the Glories therein...

Even Higher Ground

Open plains so lush and green
that no human eye hath e'er seen
covered in Lilies oh so fair
evry colour of creation is to be found there

Animals that ne'er bite nor hiss
or render each other with fateful death kiss
they leap n bound together as one
everything hath it's place neath the eye of the SON!

All present will obtain them a crown
a gift of love for sin's hold, they did frown
the mansion promised amid purest Golden city
to fore go the inheritance would be a great pity

Streets of Gold like a Crystal sea
foundations of gems reflect illuminously
no need for sun to light this place
the Most High will alight on our face

No more sorrow, crying or dying here
perfect peace yea nary a care
a banquet hall is prepared in advance
for all whose lives were ne'er left to chance

Sitting upon HIS Throne He'll be
his Sons and Daughters kneel afore thee
again He'll drink of the fruit of the vine
as his shed blood hath become the Newest Wine

There's no sitting pon a fluffy cloud
or singing incessantly from harps aloud
though harps some will play
lyres and flutes are others forte

The universe with it's glories to see
with which we can visit endlessly
no more limited to finite flight
just a thought is needed, the speed of light

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Still we must tarry here awhile longer
suffering makes the soul stronger
till soon no more this earth be bound
as we head for Even Higher Ground.
Hey that's ok Andy, I totally understand ;);) nudge nudge lol!
We didn't come down here and form the Penal colony for nuffin m88888 lol, manuscript on desk in the morning, sir yes sir.
Seriously though, this piece that I wrote last night....I just want to say this....It was inpsired from God on High, that I know, so I thank you all for your reviews, but the greater Glory is to the one who inspired the scriptures, that inspired the artists and inspired me..I was looking at that pic for some time before writing.
God bless you all
Love Ch'erie
BRB JUST OFF FOR A GUINNESS.....
Okies back.....YICK....
Bunyan...no not those on your feet. THe book Pilgrims progress. Mrs Perrott, you are lucid enough to do a new version, being in prison helps, but I guess you kinda are, being in a penal colony...I could get you ut for good behaviour. But 3 months at sea, would be almost as bad as two days in New York....
Watch out, watch out there's a bush tucker about..
I want your manuscript on my desk 08:29.11 sharp...81 000 and 2 words or detention in the woodshed, and you can only have vodka for punishment, with a bit of brit care and attention..lol Lady Chaterly...ok off to do the garden, seya later gaitor, unless you do your work.... (Andy apologises for going insane) again...lol
You've touched me deeply with this write my friend...much inspiration and much wisdom within the lines. You are so right, the suffering that we do while here on this earth keeps us upon our knees, where we draw strength from the living fountain of God's great mercy, spirit, wisdom, and grace. Even the valleys that we go through should be considered higher ground, for we are saved by grace and don't go through the valleys alone...yes, indeed higher ground! Again, you've touched me with this one my friend....inspiration from one mountain girl to another!
Blessings,
Joyce B.
Nicely expressed poem, one only needs to view upon the glories of God to understand where one comes from and where one goes....
