FREE ROCK CONCERT OF HOPE

There's a full crowd, milling around
The line forms to the right...
Where's the beginning? No end can be found!
It's miles out of sight!

Tickets are cheap! No wait...They are free!!
No wonder there's a crowd!
Who is the star, and where's the emcee!!
What a buzz!! I'm pysched!! OH WOW!!!

Whose the first act? They call themselves HOPE??
I think.....I've heard.....their tunes........(maybe)
What are they JAZZ....NEW AGE..........or FOLK?
Gotta take a piss........real soon!!!

Finally we're here, these seats are so close!!!
I bet we could count their teeth!!!
Light show is starting....SOME CREEP IS EXPOSED!!!
HURRY SECURITY PLEASE!!!

Everyone's waiting.....they're starting to chant
Everyone's screaming for HOPE........
Clapping their hands......and starting to dance
I'm only here, cuz I'm broke!!!

or

Ditch your weed, its makin' me choke!(Asthma)

or

Gross! The perv is starting to stroke!

It's been an hour, or has it been three?
My ass is getting cramped!
No wonder this concert was open and free!!
Let's split.......my hand's been stamped!!

Maybe we shouldn't give up on HOPE
You know? I bet there's a chance
Hey, I gotta feeling......but then I'm a dope
Look the perv is starting to dance!!!

WOW....WATTA NUT CASE..that much is true
He looks like WACKJOB to me
He gave me a shock, and I never knew
What crawls out ta rock.......when it's FREE!

Tambourines and elephants are playing in the band.
Won't you take a ride on the flyin' spoon?
Doo, doo doo.
Wond'rous apparition provided by magician

A little CCR lyrics there, it just kinda fit right in. Least you got music. LOL

Lady A,

Lady A, you rock...this is a very prolific poem, filled with your usual wit and in your face poetry. The message here is clear. Give hope a chance even if it comes in the form of a naked perv stroking his one eyed snake to the beat of Boney M's "hands up, baby hands up, baby your love give me give me your love give me give me...hehehe...sorry just imagining someone crazy enough to dance naked to that one...great poem, great message, great to review it. ((hugs)) Michael

concerts have a life to their own ...

i really like your approach to this poem which recants the madness of a free concert ... it's hard when you have been waiting 3 hours and the top act you're seeing is a perv ... anyway, really well written!

This is different - and wild and whacky even for you, Dearheart!! And haven't we all bin there at some time or other? Actually, more times than I care to admit, but - hey! It's good to show solidarity with the spirit of art and expression!! Thoroughly endorse your sentiments about not giving up on Hope... however feeble or loony that seems!! PS Got excited about being given FREE coathangers in the School Shop yesterday - how sad am I!!??? PPS Term starts for me end of the month... I go back to School while you hit the Big Time! How's that goin?! Luv ya! Kate xx
