Poem Artwork

I saw a manatee fart at Sea Word, through the underwater viewing section.  It changed my life forever.  Muuhaahaaa

FARTS

Each unique as thumb prints
Birthing deep within
Yet when shared with others
Our faces hold chagrin

Most deny their origin
Canines bare the blame
They love with fierce devotion
Bribes assuage our shame

A language without border
That all would understand
Scented understanding
From animal to man

Some come through in sputters
Others trumpet bold
Sometimes trapped and pushing
Cheeks of burdened load

Everybody does it
Everyone who eats
Farting can be lethal
Or silently discreet

Ahhh, what an outrageously fine ode to an essential function of the physical body. However, it should be noted that those "silently discreet" boogers can sometimes be the most lethal offenders:-)

... You seen that Adam Sandler film where he is a vet minstering to a manatee who rewards his efforts thus?? A most exhaustive look at that most debased of animal actions... Over here we are normally quite discreet about such things... but I remember travelling in rush hour on a crowded underground where "the culprit" was very vociferously taken to task by a neighbouring inhaler whose nostrils he was offending to the great amusement and embarrassment of all around... I should think his bowels seized up for the next three months after that! Great purge of a write... better out than in, I'd say! :)) LOL K xx

Oh this sounds like such a lot of hot air to me! LOLOLOL. Sometimes though you just got to let it out...no point in bottling things up....heat of the moment....but occasionally a gal's gotta do what a gal's gotta do...so say it like it is...and breathe easy! ;) Thank you for bringing a huge smile to my face. My father, who was born in Amsterdam, Holland taught us one Dutch word and only one..."Broucoost" ,it means "pants cough"! :)
I grew up thinking thats what it's really called!
Now my children say, "Oops! I Broucoosted! :)
Funny stuff!

You have truly been blessed, Queenie. I have witnessed many, from many an earthly creature, but the manatee is truly on my Wish List.

Amazing...you show your class as a writer even when you write about farts. This was fun and amusing. Though we all feel varing degrees of humor and shame about farting, rest asured, it will be the last sound that emits from our bodies as we leave this world. We come in crying and leave farting...life is a gas!!
Take care,
Sherry

Ha! Ha! Haaaa!!!! It must be legalised. No one can ban the FART.I have a good memory on this farting business. It was during my schooldays in my classroom. The teacher used to do the roll calling before the start of the lesson,O we responded with our farts. It went till roll no 12 and the teacher finally stormed out of the classroom. We had a lesson off!!Sometimes farts do work!!! Thank you for this funny poem

And I have heard of a fellow
who the Devil did outsmart
by telling him to paint yellow
a perfectly timed fart!
(See, the Devil had told a bunch of guys they wouldn't go to Hell if only they asked him to do something and he failed. After the other guys all asked the devil to do things they had thought impossible, but which he was able to do anyway, and thus had all gone to Hell, our smart fellow... had this "blasting" idea... and was saved, because the poor Devil, albeit all his art, simply could not... paint the fart!) LOL!!!
Loved this, Anita, you're the BEST! :0)

I used to dance with a guy who had flatulence issues. Every time we'd whirl, he'd fart. I needed to breathe, so I switched partners! HA HA! I guess you WERE feeling silly today! This is a fun piece. Great job. Michelle

I used to sit next to a lad in class who could fart at will. Problem was, when he farted, the teacher could not tell which one of us did it so he separated us. He sent Wullie to the back of the class. Problem was, the guy was a ventriliquist farter. He farted at the back of the class but me at the front got the blame: 'McAdam,' (the English of my name)the teacher sneered, 'Get outside.' 'But it wasn't me sir!' (we never shopped each other). My initiation at the primary school was being grabbed by two senior pupils and held with my back against a tree. Held firmly, a third senior guy turned and put his greasy clad arse right into my face and farted: 'Ugh!' No wonder I grew up with an inferiority complex - only worth farting on. Happened at school camp as well (Abington, Peter, you know the place in Lanarkshire). Lying on my bunk when all of a sudden a bigger pupil bounces along the bunks, lands on mine and imediately sits on my face and blasts another. What was it about me that guys wanted to fart on me?
Memories, Anita, memories - fond ones funny enough.

then have a big fart.

OK ... you got me on this one Anita.

I needed a good belly laugh this day. Hey, dontcha know that girls aren't suppose ta talk about poop and farts.

You speak so positively though, and poetically you wax of Fartus Eruptus Stinkus. You forgot to mention one mode Queenie ... those that deposit special gooshy presents in ones chonies.

yes ... let us all walk in the air of human indiscretion and breathe in those moments that wilt the olfactory with cunning precision.

You Rock ...
