Heart Wheels

Beneath the cart turned four old wheels
Over smooth and rocky roads
Through heat and storms, and balmy days
Bearing light and heavy loads

Round they turned by routine
They followed as was led
Above them there was "something"
Atop their rounded heads

Some days the weight was heavy,
Others it was light
They carried loads to someplace
It's presence out of sight

Trapped they were beneath the cart
In endless roll and spin
Going through the motions
To end and then begin

Hmmm

Ever feel you are the wheel
The wheel that rolls your soul
Going through the motions
With all your spirit holds

Ever stop to take a look
To see whats in YOUR cart
For you're not bound by size or shape
For your wheel, moves a heart

Beautiful. I love the subject and your conclusion. Its presence is out of sight.

This reminded me of a very old traditional piece...here you go I gonna share this in my Language....not my own work but I am sure it would be okay if I shat this!! One we had to learn in school!!

Die ossewa

Die osse stap aan deur die stowwe,
geduldig, gedienstig, gedwee;
die jukke, al drukkend hun skowwe -
hul dra dit getroos en tevree.

En stille, al stuiwend en stampend,
kom stadig die wa agterna -
die dowwe rooi stowwe, al dampend,
tersy op die windjie gedra.

Die middagson brand op die koppe,
gebuk in hul beurende krag;
hul swaai heen en weer in die stroppe -
en ver is die tog van die dag.

Dit kraak deur die brekende brokke:
die opdraans is ver en is swaar;
die knars in die knakkende knokke,
maar hul beur, en die vrag bring hul daar.

So, stom tot die stond van hul sterwe,
blyf ieder 'n held van die daad...
Hul bene, na swoeë en swerwe,
lê ver op die velde verlaat.

Very well done and strong look at life and the affects of it with the perfect analogy of the cart and wheel.

The strength of the cart relies in the firm structure of it's body. In the heart...the engine always is more versatile than any one could ever guess. Whether body, heart, cart or soul the power is in the drive.

Love your work.

Yes indeed, we all have to roll our own cart over the unpaved roads or the slick thruways of life . . . Sometimes the wheels may creak and wobble, but the cart must not stop its forward progress . . .
