~  Lilac Topiary  ~

I care not for large diamonds, nor do I dream of gold.
But a lilac topiary, flowering tree.
Gracing my garden’s leafy walls, in fragrances of lilac,
Where I will sit to ponder love with thee.

White lilacs growing wild, may very easily be found,
Trained to topiary form…your task.
To prove you are a patient man, worthy of my love,
Time will tell how long your patience lasts.

Grow my lilac topiary, in a garden of your own,
Twisting, turning, twigs, hands tender be.
To demonstrate a gentle man, required to be my suitor,
Caressing fragile branches, as your touch need be, for me.

Bring forth to me a budding tree, sweet aromatic pleasures,
So I may know the man, who grew this tree.
When my lilac topiary drapes, in lazy clustered flowers,
I will know…all that is good…inside of thee…

Wow...quite a challenge..Love lilac's....you may be unable to grow them in California...because they require an annual long deep frost.
