Well, all you Venusians out there need to give me some "pointers" - 'cause if'n this don't work, my 'bag O' tricks' is 'bout M-T !!!

Should I give up? Back off? Go soak my head? Take a cold shower? Drop back 5 and PUNT?

Now bear in mind that SHE recently READ WHAT YOUSE GUYS COMMENTED - and wrote saying I had worn her down and AGREED TO MEET!!!!

AND - she did call on my cell phone, which did CAPTURE a phone # --- and I did call it TWICE & left messages! Is this PROGRESS, or what?

WHEN - DARLIN' - WHEN ???

DARLIN’ I CAN’T MAKE YOU!

Copyright: November 3, 2006 – Tom Hyland

I send you my love in verse of Poesy,
All dedicated and devoted to you.
You respond in time,
Saying you loved my rhyme,
In fact, you say you’re ‘floored’ –

My answering machine still boldly holds
Your sweet Angelic voice, where
E-mail address is freely given,
But Alas, no number, what can I do?
Please call again – Darlin’ I can’t make you!

I sit and wait to hear your Angelic voice.
Minutes turn into hours,
Slowly, hours turn into days,
But you don’t call, and I ‘m in a daze -
What can I do to help you through?

Another verse is penned, then posted,
And others take my side.
Now, you’re really impressed, and I’m a mess!
You respond in kind, and blow my mind -
Why won’t you call? Darlin’ I can’t make you!

I try to conjure up some patience,
For I know something has you distressed.
If only I knew, what you’re going through,
I don’t wish to pry, just to understand why!
Perchance Romance could help?

We all have worrisome issues,
Sometimes ‘baggage’ from our pasts,
But ‘small talk’ and forwards,
Cannot build a Love that will ever last.
Why can’t you share? Darlin’ I can’t make you!

“A Friend in Need, is a Friend Indeed”
Or so the Sooth-sayers say.
“She ain’t heavy, she’s my Sister”
This I’d like to whisper, as I kissed her,
If only I found a way!

Last night came the second call - God, was I elated!
My Celestial Angel was on the other end,
And I hoped the Promised Date was nigh -
But call cut short, a quick Goodbye!
Five hours I waited – Darlin’ I can’t make you!

A cocktail at Valentino’s, perhaps a bite to eat?
Only You can choose - decide to meet!
Maybe you’ll be disappointed, maybe you won’t show?
But Darlin’ that’s the Chance we take,
Else we’ll never ever know!

I don’t want to pressure you,
But I’m running out of Hope,
My pursuit has lasted three months now,
Am I just a Hopeless Dope?
Darlin’ I can’t make you!

Labor Day has passed us, Halloween now gone,
Thanksgiving fast approaching, must I wait that Long?
Oh, Christmas Tree, how sweet t’would be,
With Elida, my Ideal Angel, decked upon Thee!
BUT – Darlin’ I can’t make you!

Patience they say, is a virtue...but this is ridiculous! No, Tom ya can't make her, but I think she already has...then again...
you can always try the other approach...

(just put your doggie on top!) HA!

Love and Peace~

She sounds too high maintenence.
Cute poem, but dump her. Too much trouble, and she sounds like a peter teaser.

I DID NOT USE THE EDITOR!!! File was in WORD, RTF format, perfectly edited, BEFORE simply pasting! I have now tried: .doc, .html, .rtf, .txt = ALL GET SCREWED UP !
