The One I Long For O' To Love
( a poem about the search for true love)
the one I long for o' to love
a friend at first to get to know
with qualities that hope to make
the often called one's own soulmate
does the one exist
can it even be
but if I don't search
I'll never see
so search I'll try not knowing how
just put myself out there somehow
the one I find or find I don't
at least I tried, can't say I won't
so the search begins, don't know the end
but start I must, I must begin
a story told must start somewhere
or the story's lost for evermore
there's not just one, some surely say
but the one I choose, is that not the one
for in this age of throw away
of the one I say, I'll always stay
I'll search in places not yet known
in frigid cold, deep in the snow
on mountains high if I must climb
or to valleys low that I must go
through scorching heat, in desert bare
in stormy seas, in places rare
through mighty winds that break a sail
to heaven's perch or fiery hell
I'll steer the course, straight on ahead
on to the goal, through all the dread
for if I falter, even if to fail
how shall I lose what I never had
But,
if the one is found, we both shall know
the love we've longed for o' so long
then bound in love, from that day on
to the one each longed for o' to love
And, if that, too, fails. You can always use an Internet dating service for a few "throwaway lovers." ;-)

Love ya!

That special someone will come along,
Just endure a little longer, Daniel,
don't give up!
