Amen...Any body who thinks wars are a good thing ain't never been in one. Anders Breivik shot 77 young kids to death in July 2011 in Norway.... His "punishment"...21 years in a private luxery suite with large flat screen sattelite TV...a personal trainor..heated pool and air conditioning at tax payers expense. There is only one new law that needs to be passed....vicious murdering sick b*stards pay promptly with their lives.
I'm with you 100% except for that biblical quote. I would prefer, “Swift Justice and the punishment fits the crime.” It is really strange that when it's a person committing murder we have all these courts and checks and balances, accompanied by expensive warehousing. However, when it's a country, we call it war and kill with impunity. Since when does war have to be a legitimate institution? It's state-sponsored murder, that's all. Why are we deluding ourselves saying we need defense when we go on the offense and annihilate and always have a lot of collateral damage like Hiroshima. Where is the sanity in the constitutional right?

As sad as this horrific event is for the victims and families, my feeble mind asks...Where did the "professional student" perp get the money to buy the weapons, ammo, chemicals, combat-outfit, etc.(tax-payers-govt. loans)??? What were young children and babies doing in the movie theater at that hour??? Another good, questioning "rant", Tom.
Tom, on all that you've written here, I could not agree with you more... As far as guns, I am a pistol shooting enthusiast, shooting at a local range at least once a week. In California, unable to legally purchase them, magazines containing more than ten rounds are absolutely against the law as are assault rifles. Problem is, of course, the crooks and crazies have ways, outside of the law, to obtain what they want. But Yes, all assault rifles across the country should be banned.
