I'm sure some of you can relate to this scenerio...

Poem Artwork

While watering my garden

one day I did see,

two little eyes...staring at me.

Frozen with fear

screams stuck in my throat,

heart beating fast

eyes wild and remote.

I ran like a panther

straight into a tree,

mouth gapped wide open

a spider, I did eat.

Back at the garden

warmed by the sun,

a little green snake

laughed at the fun.

I can see the snakes eyes crinkling up in wonderment at your antics, and then he probably got upset since you ate the fat, juicy spider and didn't offer him any *grin*

I love your poetry, it captures life and thoughts in brigh strokes of genius.

Oh, those snakes are like that. I am sorry that you ate the spider. I don't like spiders because they spoil the taste of my cud.
I hope you don't see any more snakes in your nice garden.
Especially smart alecky one.
Nice poem.

I'm laughing with that little snake, Zenith, since I like little snakes. But I realize many are afraid of them.

PS Was it a tasty spider?!

Enjoyable write, Poet!!! Although I love a beautiful garden, I really hate any types of spiders or snakes!!! Thank you for sharing it.

hahahahah....this was indeed funny. I am not frightened of spiders or snakes...but if one sudden drops on me or crawls into my sleeping bag it can get tense...very well done, Zenith.

hahaha, wasn't a laugh then, but bet it is now!;-)
It always made me wonder garden snakes being green,
as if they grew from the earths grasses.
delightful write!

Cute and funny!!!
And how well I can relate. But you know what? My flower garden is
now five years old, and since that first "scare" by an innocent snake,
I watch, fascinated as they eat bugs and mice in my flower beds. I
am no longer afraid of them, nor they of me.They spend most of their
time sunning, high up, on a rock ledge within the garden.
Of course..Wisconsin snakes are not poisonous.
