A Question
By John Herlihy

Nature asks us no questions,

Beauty and Truth its source.

Mystery within its reflections

Awakens our souls of course.

When the sun shines at dawn,

We see, not hear, God’s voice.

If a forest whisper is a fawn,

Our hearts beat loving rejoice.

Why may nature want to ask,

When nature already knows.

Why need set itself the task,

When the bud to flower grows.

We seekers remove our masks,

To see what nature never asks.

Yes! We appreciate the varieties and differences in each of them. They know us and that's it. Great metaphor!

Love ya!

Beautifully put. The breadth of nature's gift to us is always there...if only more would acknowledge its ethereal importance.

SO TRUE, JOHN! THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE WORLD, WHEREVER WE BE, WE CAN HEAR NATURE'S VOICE...NEVER WITH A QUESTION BUT SPEAKING - TELLING US SO MUCH! WE ARE 'SO' LOVED! AREN'T WE? THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Nature provides beauty as well as destruction and chaos. Sometimes we do not need to remove our masks, nature will do it for us.

Your last two lines sit well in me. And I agree. Nature cares not for our pretenses. Might as well bare ourselves to her. Nature has been, for most of my life, the best teacher about life and the Creator. Enjoyed, John. r

I greatly admire this very non-intrusive, but delightful poem . . . It heralds nature, and that, my friend is a good thing is a good thing.
