THE BRIDGE OF LOVE By John Herlihy You have your view, I have mine, Let us find ways to intertwine, Between trust and betrayal, Between agreement and disagreement, We will meet halfway. Between hatred and love, Between suspicion and clear vision, We will meet halfway. Between failure and success, Between acceptance and rejection, We will meet halfway. Between the sea and the sky, Between the mountain and the valley, We will meet halfway. Between the sun and the rain, Between the smile and the tear, We will meet halfway. Between our sorrows and joys, Between light and darkness, We will meet halfway. Meeting halfway will ensure, That the bridge of love will endure.

Nothing really great has ever come from compromise. But when it comes to relationships, if both parties move halfway toward the other's view, they are almost there. Just as long as there are no nagging regrets.

In today's world, it seems we've lost the ability to communicate, and see each others point of view. It's become us vs. them, and it's toxic to both. I have seen it happen right here on AD. I've seen comments deleted just because they didn't fit that persons narrative. We need to relearn how to work with instead of against each other, and meet halfway. A timely write.

That halfway meeting is great to marvel at, but somehow, sometimes the meeting is more one way than the other, unfortunately. At least that has been my experience in life.
