Yesterday we envision a better tomorrow,

Today we try to build a better tomorrow,

Tomorrow we seek a future tomorrow,

The day after is always another morrow.

Then what happens but tomorrow comes,

Yet another tomorrow after a million suns,

And what happened, tomorrow no better,

Tomorrow just seems like another fetter.

All tied up in knots betwixt and between,

All the days no better than what they seem.

Some future day won’t be no better no how,

Just a day like any other day, there somehow.

Let no predictions of tomorrow come running,

Let tomorrow prove to be more than stunning.

Let me be surprised by what tomorrow brings,

Let my heart be filled to overflowing as it sings.
