A romantic winter poem about love and its memories of youth.
Billows of a winter snow blowing through my curtain window
all I sweet remember is the way the willow tree smelled
that creamy, sugary, wintergreen scent of its lovely mellow
and the way the sun tilted each time you looked at me...
Snowflakes falling from a heavy laden sky of marble
and though my heart is longing, it is full of your song
that slow jazz music made us drunk as we danced
beneath the sultry moon, like a a fork and spoon
February shivers, my how the winter defuses
all that is left is the scent of a warmth remembered
healing hands, *** secret pillow talks
You grew old I grew old, then we both stopped living
My how I recall those winter snaps,
two young lovers lost in the silk of life's entwine
I remember when our love was fresh and new
like the weeping willow, dressed to the nines
Ah ! But those were different times and now is now,
I am presently lost, ... in this winter pow.
EVEN IF ONLY FOR A FEW MOMENTS, THOSE THOUGHTS OF A SWEET, WARM AND MELLOW YESTERDAY DISPERSED THOSE 'FEBRUARY SHIVERS'...AND THAT'S A GOOD THING. LOVELY AND ENJOYED.LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS
Very moving and meaningful, Vienna. Your poem reminds me of the song, "April Come She Will" by Simon and Garfunkel which aired what seems like lifetimes ago. Love, peace, and best wishes,

A wonderful remembrance of how winters past were enjoyed during youth. But time and the challenge of life often moves people apart, especially in the dead of winter when one cannot get out.
That last word just doesn't seem to fit. But I can see our dilemma while finding a word that not only is meaningful, but rhymes.
Winter, with all of its fearsome beauty, can be a time of deep reflection. Another year older, hopefully wiser, and more grateful. If we can carry the spirit of a child into our old age, stay healthy, and never stop communicating, it's a good possibility we will never lose our enthusiasm, no matter how aging changes us. A touching insight, Vienna. Peace.... r
It is sad how age diminishes not just our capacity to live but to love and find the excitement that life offers...sometimes we just stop seeing it..
