He stood behind the podium
Gave testimony of
His greatness wealth and then ho hum
Some stuff that he could shove

His suit was of the finest make
Italian leather shoes
His eloquence sure took the cake
Following all the cues

So manicured meticulous
A GQ guy for sure
The ladies swooned and made a fuss
Each one dressed for to lure

The chosen lady to his house
Where she was made aware
This cad was really quite the louse
Wore dirty underwear

Great metaphor for all cads out there…

But taken literally, once those dirty things are shed and a good shower, they can be forgot or, perhaps take a little spin in the washer and dryer and clean up.

This poem is a metaphor describing how "wonderful" a person may seem vs what that person is "really" like which is sometimes a disappointment.
