Woodstock 69'

Peace, Love, Rock n' Roll, Drugs n' Sex, what a great combination...

 Woodstock 69’…


 


Yes, been there, done that, lost virginity,


Fifteen years old was I, told not to go,


Parents in Europe for summer, screw them,


Went with cousin, just back from Nam’ he was,


Sold his uniform, medals and paraphernalia,’


I lost all my clothes, twice, liked being naked, hee hee…


 


Acid all three days, pot & other “illegal” substances,


Fell in love, with Jimi & Janis, still to this day that is my stance,


Tie dies, bell-bottoms, peace flags, and little food,


We ate what we brought, we did not die, we were not sued…


 


Towards the end, I met a guy, with a big can of pork & beans,


He would not part with it, said that wasn’t too brotherly did I,


Few minutes later, they said the brown acid was not too good,


Better get to the medical tent, before you eat anything, or lose your food,


He had taken that color acid, I the yellow stuff, oh well,


What goes around comes around, my friends and I had lots of pork & beans to sell,


We gave it out to whomever; we don’t sell to our brothers and sisters,


After he came back, his can was empty, his stomach pumped, Karma works, I do tell!


 


Got home just before my parents came back from their vacation,


No one knew, fortunately mom never again saw my butt,


The peace tattoo was on there then, with the Woodstock name as well,


I wonder if they ever really did know, that their son was the Woodstock slut?


I knew, but didn’t care; all that I did care about was that I was there…

Hmmm... can't "shave" off that butt tatoo can you? (grin) I was on a list for a bus going from Madison, then the bus was cancelled. I didn't mind... I don't adapt well to starvation and no sleep. As a folk music person, I would have loved to see Baez and Arlo, though..and who in their right mind would knowingly pass up a chance to see the great and powerful Hendrix? Sigh. I'd have loved the rain too. Lovely stroll down nostalgia lane, sweetie pie! katy xox.

Peace man - what an era it was - an you lived it to the fullest!! Great observations of the times and excellent capture of the philosophy that burns alive in some of us to this day.

All things being equal, maybe there will be a revisit to this most interesting of eras in our young country's history. One can dream. :)

Now I finally know what happened to my big can of pork and beans.

And Ed, could you please post a picture of your Woodstock tattoo? Easiest way would be to go to one of the Ten Cent a Copy, Copy Centers and sit on the xerox machine. Thanks!
