What is philosophy anyway...?

The Concept of Odd/Even is a Philosophical Illusion… What is philosophy anyway? Is one mans philosophy another’s psychology? Do we, any of us, really profess to understand philosophy? I know this writer finds philosophy to be virtually impossible to play with in the sand… What can we do to better understand the enigma of philosophical thought? Should we go to school, read more books on the subject, examine the self? Do we truly need to understand philosophy to a better degree? Or do we simply let it run its course? Nothing can be done anyway from our position on one knee… Who do we speak to, who would speak to us, who would tell me my mind is in a rut? Philosophy today is different from the past, or is it simply that we have changed? Is philosophy after all is said and done an illusion, a concept unable to be explained? If I could explain it, would mean I could see it, but as an illusion, it is not reality, Or maybe that is the crux, is philosophy a reality, does it truly exist? Maybe only for those that find existence to be that of illusion, No more of a reality is philosophy than that of Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck, But I do know that Bugs Bunny is a reality, at the very least he is my reality, Of course this is from my own personal reality, at best, an abnormal mentality… © ed ~ 8/12/04

i love that last line!! I've spent years trying to perfect my own personal philosophy of life with absolutely no progress made thus far...but i'm still always open to theory

Philosophy, for me , is the wisdom in keeping alive ( ya don't grow old by being a fool), getting the most out of living, noticing the details and addharmony, at whatever the cost and trying to keep from repeating mistakes by learning from them the first time around.
Psychology is another's opinion. Heck I've studied both in their intensity and come out still unchanged with my idea of both.
It's just how you put it here but in my words...give or take a few.
