I am the Hermit…

Not a crab in a shell,

Though at times I can give hell,

Hiding in my box I live,

Is this living, I cannot tell…?

The clock no longer keeps good time,

The conditioned air keeps me cool,

The past but a memory, the future a dream,

The present I do exist in, wish I had in here a pool…

Out only for short walks,

Of the place I live I can only balk,

To those that read my poetry I only talk,

Of my reclusive existence I do write,

I do so with reluctance, my favorite writing utensil being pink chalk…

The invention of time was the end of peace. Get rid of the clock.

Hey you have pink chalk? Can we draw pictures? Maybe we can wet it down a little and then Rufuz can add his signature too :-)

Being a hermit gives you a real chance of seeing/feeling and hearing what's really going on. It has its dark moments but soon I am sure you will see the other side.

lol at roger och's review

i love this, you old crab! but you ought to have heard the little crabs i did yesterday...a friend of mine's sister has three sugar gliders (they resemble small flying squirrels), and for being so tiny, they sure do make a lot of noise and cause a lot of mischief! the noise they make, according to my friend's sister, is knowing as "crabbing"; they do this when annoyed or awakened from sleep. they are a hoot to watch! LOL and they are soooooo cute!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in tx., karen lynn. :D

also saw my first roadrunner too..and no, wile e. coyote was NOT chasing it! LOL

Ed, I love your work but could I make a request? Use either a larger or darker font. We old farts get headaches trying to read some of your poetry.
