Rest In Peace, Jerry…1945 – 1995

Ten years ago we lost a deadhead,

The leader of the band, the first head,

He left us after a life of fanfare,

We followed him and danced and of our heads fed…

Cannot can I believe it has been ten years,

So many did I at first shed of tears,

Then I did to wash away the pain do beers,

Then the thought of my own mortality brought to me fears…

We cannot say enough of Jerry,

He left us with music sometimes quite contrary,

He made us think and at one of his concerts I lost my cherry,

Jerry Garcia did keep us with his music most happy and merry…
