Three Sentinels…

They do stand sentinels of our past,

When they did support something that did not last,

A home or protection from waves,

Maybe better yet a pier for those that like to their rods cast…

Sentries they are now to us remind,

Remember the past, a time we should now to rewind,

A slower time for all of mankind,

Yet not much different still we were quite refined…

If we could harness memories,

We could then remember past events with clarity,

Events held on piers of time working for charity,

A time when we all knew prosperity,

A time long before today’s barbarity and vulgarity…

Very thoughful sentiments here, though at first I imagined three seagulls perched neatly upon those poles :)
