Snowed under, no snow job to us. Lived at an apartment and kept having to take my dog Joy out. She got lost in the snow in fact, it was so deep. She's gone now, but snow was her favorite. Mine too in winter time, especially if it comes at Christmas eve.

And now your lucky to see snow LOL.

A lot of work to get to the bottom for that measurement! Another foot of dig and it would have been four. In 1898, my neighborhood got 22 inches of snow. Man, you wouldn't want to live here then. ;-)

i remember that storm ... the entire city was shut down ... no trains, buses even the postal service was closed for the first time in its history ...

did have a fun day though but its aftermath was tuff to endure ...

I love your sense of humor and this was another good write...I do rememeber that very well and I am glad its just a memory now and not being relived. Only my kids were inside and I was shoveling..hmmmm One of us did the right thing! :)

I was living in Ohio at that time and we got hammered too. What was supposed to be an inch of snow turned into the heaviest ever and all overnight. Unfortunately, I was working for the Health Department and we were an emergency shelter, so I still had to go to work. I called my neighbor and he came over with his Kabota Tractor and cleared my drive and my street up to the corner where the city had already cleared and salted...what a mess that was!! especially for a weather snob girl from Southern California.
