...ah, for the good ole' days...

Poem Artwork

Now they were cars,

Taking ya to and from the bars,

Back when everyone drove with a beer,

Never then did we worry about hitting a deer…

Caddy’s and Chevy’s, most fins they got,

Used to think did we that they were really hot,

Dreamed of the day we could afford to drive,

Saved our dollars for our first car we did strive…

Memories we have now,

No longer can we drive and drink,

A six pack on the seat, our breath did stink,

We did see elephants that were pink…

Cops did pull us over for drugs,

Did not care about booze,

Yes we had accidents, our cars turned into bugs,

But those were the days, when every Saturday we did cruise…

I got my first car when "fins" were already out of fashion but I do remember them. Thanks for the memories, Ed. Love and peace,

~*~ Nice Car! :) People should always be terribly sorry if they harm a sweet divine Deer or any precious Animal~Bird etc!!! *** ED... or anyone... I have a question. If a person here at AuthorsDen is just a 'Reader'... and not a 'Member' who has a Profile and Message Board here... **How Do They Receive The Replies I Make To The Messages They Post On My Message Board Here?** Do My Replies Go To An Outside Email Address Of Theirs? Someone please answer this! A friend who just posted on my Message Board is just a 'Reader'... not a 'Member' here ~ and I need to contact him... I do not have his email address! ~*~ ~*~ Much Love, Shivani ~*~

Ed,

THAT, my friend, is a SHARP car. Lovely pic, and thanks for the memories. Cars were made better then, don't you agree?

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

The first car that I ever 'borrowed' from my Dad was a big black Pontiac with those magnificent fins. I thought I was very cool driving it all around town, too - and I was 13! Those were, indeed, the days, my friend.

A great "cruise" down nostalgia lane indeed. Funny how life appears to have been so simple and uncomplicated when one looks back on good times, especially those enjoyed in the smooth classic rides of FINS.
