Old friends missed, but not forgotten...

Good to try to recall old friends, but wish there was a way to rekindle those friendships...(that is me on the right at about 9 or 10)

Poem Artwork

Allan Summers a friend from childhood,

I remember where he lived,

And that we were friends,

After he left my life, his name my imaginary pal,

Hope he does do well, living happily with a gal…

Peter Lovitt was a close friend,

Or so we think when young,

Saw him last when I was but sixteen,

My boat we used to ride in & fish we did clean…

Ricky Townsend is now some kind of engineer,

Working in Thailand or some distant land,

First friend I can recall in Sea Isle city,

As time does pass, lost to changes, seems really shitty…

Even in this computer age,

Hard to find these friends without some knowledge,

But for nothing else I do remember them and acknowledge,

That they were dear friends for time,

All things change, time moves on, childhood pals grow up,

Hopefully this does not happen to my ever-lovin’ pup…J

This must be the season to march down memory lane! We too just thought about some old and long lost friends from our childhood. That's the way it goes, when we try to grow up, we part and lose touch. But your little pup, he'll always be there for you and by your side!

The nostalgia reeks in this heartfelt poem Ed. I can sense your mood of yearning for a bit of what was, or at least some kind of continued relationship. We all want that, but we all must separate one from another in time. That's just the way of it. Only Creator is the rock that is always there!;-)

Sounds like you truly miss them. Have you tried getting any info at your old school(s)? Many of my old pals still go to those class reunions, and some even have old class newsletters and updates and a Who's Who.
