Poem Artwork

Came it did from a lab,

Put together by a young lad,

Two hits Jimi did take,

Playing left handed he didn’t fake…

Too young was I to attend,

Did the white acid at Woodstock, the end,

The yellow not especially too good,

The older generation it did then offend…

Miss the 60’s I do most certain,

Even the early 70’s most fun, still a curtain,

Those drugs we did, we were most of it uncertain,

Found did I through drugs, a belief of Zen…

Karma, yin, yang, what goes around does around come,

Of those drugs I did become quite numb,

Better they were than the drink called rum,

To some though we may be considered quite dumb,

Learned did I then of and about the all-purpose opposable thumb…

Turn on, tune in, drop out (Leary) Many took him at his bleary eyed word and are still suffering the consequences - and this included the late Hendrix. As a left handed guitarist he was not exactly unique: McCartney already had six years of limelight on him there.
As for me. I was safe enough with Uncle Fester and his light bulb. The rest of the 1960s was just darkness. Thanks for the legacy Leary!

I miss the 50s, Brother - and I just wrote a poem about our time then together.

i once played at the Cafe Wah in '67, where i had the chance to speak with Hendrix who was also playing that night ... he was a shy but powerful presence and would bring the guitar to life as none could ... and i'll never forget the party afterwards, i'm still recuperating ;) oh yes, he was unbelieveable at the Filmore East ... a tragic end for a tormented but enlightened man and musician ...

Loved the art! The 70's had me as an ingene in newspapers and a strong woman of immortal visions. I owned the world and anything was possible for me if I believed and I did. Guess what? I didn't smoke or do any drugs. At the press club, after the paper went to bed we'd hop over to Pinkie Master's, lock the doors and drink scotch, play pinball and solve the worlds problems. What a glorious time I had until mortality set in. Thank's for the memories.

Oh Gosh Ed ...

Rum gave me a headache bigtime in my youth. Jimi was from another planet. I revered that dude for awhile. His story is sad and fits an unfortunate stereo-type of many great artists.

This was reallygood. And I liked your cute icons.
