From lifeguard to gas station attendant, Lived at home, not very independent, During meditation I was transcendent, Younger was I than my twenty years, On others I was always dependant� But life was good then too, Always a car to drive, To go where I wanted, Surprisingly got there alive� Made, had & kept some very good friends, Never drove a Mercedes Benz, Now I am though, of then, making amends, Wish I knew then the value of Zen� � ed ~ 10/4/06

It must be a day for inner reflection --lots of poetry today about looking back to the good ol' days. I enjoyed your poem ... made me reflect a bit, too ... twenty was a long time ago for me.

Twenty for me is a long long time and with dementia setting in, I can't remember much except that I was studying hard at that time, yukk!! Victor

I wish I knew the value of style then - what with platform shoes and a darn perm! Come on, were we that effeme in 74, or was it 77, could've been 78, no matter, a perm? Looking at old snaps from then I looked like an electric toothbrush about to encounter the molars of a diseased geriatric bus shelter.
