I love lemon cake, but lemon cake doesn't apparently love me...

Poem Artwork

Of late my diet has been aiming toward health,

But every once in a while a cake sneaks in by stealth,

Then approximately ten hours later it comes back on me,

Could it be karma attacking some hoarded wealth…?

My stomach is not what it used to be, you see,

Foods I ate only a few years ago are now just so much debris,

I can see my future as eating only bland foods, no potpourri,

I cannot understand it, I don’t drink nor smoke, eating is my only vice,

I really try to be on the healthy straight and narrow, why me…?

So I do smoke the herb, the pot, the reefer every now and again,

Sure it probably does “some” damage to my body, I don’t doubt it,

Could this damage be for me my life’s bane,

Better to live in this world without addictions,

In the end eventually going insane,

That would be the only future I can forsee, that would be my final prediction…

Oh, we do feel your pain, those cakes are sure great tasting, but hard to handle, sigh.

Lemon and cheesecake damn......I guess we are getting too old to worry about a slice or two...but if you eat too much till your body goes on strike I guess we have to take it slow BRO ED!!
But rather that than smoking the pot...that is ga-ga!!

Unh, Ed...you're not supposed to eat the WHOLE cake; just a slice will do. And not too big a slice :o) All that flour (carbs) are NOT good for the tummy tubes...

FUN read! Been there...

... age does bring with it a little baggage we wish we could unpack and not check through customs! Cute little poem, Ed.
