Same color & such but was a four door wagon model...

Poem Artwork

After three years as a guest

Of the NJ dept of corrections

I picked up a 75’ Honda Civic wagon

The first and last foreign car I ever did own

Was cute, small & made me wish I never had grown…

Whonda Rhonda the Wonder Honda

Was her name, with a yellow bandaid on her fender front left

The rest of the car was faded blue,

But we used to fit 10 people in the little wreck

After we all did get out of work, no one had to home walk…

Once had to duct tape the heater

So the defroster kept the windshield clean of snow

My friend said he was getting frostbit

Though she went to 300 & some thousand miles

A lot of fun we had, a hell of a lot of smiles…J

Lill'brother that's an insulto to American cars to call it a car, if I remember well it was used to pack tuna. Great sandwich in rye though.

Only cars I had were American: mostly GM products, one Mercury. My favorite car was my 1987 Grand Am (she was a dark slate grey with red interior), especially since after I got my CD player installed. Then I could jam with my Cajun tunes; it was great! :) Now my car consists of my feet and my blue crutches, which I call "The Blue Flash". LOL I walk everywhere. Can't afford a car, not even a dead one. LOL Great write, Ed; LOVE your car series!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

This is real cute, I owned a little volkswagen in 56, and on, we had to use a prophane torch to keep the windshield open , I remember, when I lived up in the Gatineau hills it got to minus42 that day, and I had just enaugh, the size of a goose egg, to see out, it was like driving a tank, but it would start ,just on one cylinder, than two, and if you moved the foot just in the right rythem, the others would kick in, I walked into basement bar my hangout, there was a guy doing the excact same thing with his foot, to show his buddies, I watched for a second and walked over, and sure enaugh, he was explaining the proceedure, we all had a great laugh, and a few for remembering all the funny things that others had experienced, thanks for the reminder Ed. Bless you guy! Jasmin Horst
