Life sucks, why does a supposedly compassionate God take the good and leave...

Poem Artwork

I wish I could write of something humorous,

Something funny, something crazy,

But I find my thoughts are with Leah & Al,

Thoughts of pain to mention too numerous…

Leah will sometime in the near future be leaving this existence plain,

All too soon she will be meeting her God where he does reign,

Not that it makes anyone feel any better,

But no longer will she suffer from earthly pain…

I, as do we all, wish and pray for this to change,

Yes her departure will of Al’s life derange,

My only thought at this time is that he does survive,

I know he will, but without his love, his life will be hard to revive…

A heartfelt write my friend, my heart goes out to you, Al and Leah...life is hard to understand, death even harder...but I learned a long time ago not to ask why, but accept His plan. Your write is full of heart and soul...very touching and moving.
Blessings from Ky.

thanks for pulling out your deep feelings and placing them on paper! I once asked a church member who was dying of cancer if he ever asked "why me?" He said, "Why not me?" He was a young vibrant man. That touched my heart so much.

Dear Ed,
I don't know the people of which you write so maybe shouldn't be commenting but feel the need to somehow. Your poem is a tribute to their love for one another and your friendship. It's very well written and leaves the reader with a feeling of hope. Regardless of what we believe or how devout we are none of us really know what awaits us when we take our last breath. I believe it will be what you believe it to be. To know that your friend will be out of pain is, I'm sure a comfort, but then the love she lives behind will begin another long battle of learning to live without her. From my heart I wish peace for you all.

It's so hard to see a loved one leave us behind. But survive we do and I can tell you it isn't easy at all. My prayers have been with Al and Leah and peace is soon coming at last. It's been a rough few months for them but God does not give more than you can bear.

Yes, living with a broken heart is hard, but knowing that life doesn't end when we die may help a bit. I go by Einstiens theory of, everything takes up space, including our electrical system, which is measured by science. (Our electical system, like someone I know had an electrical heart attack. I'm sure you, and some of your readers know about this. Where does that go when we die? It goes somewhere because every energy changes to something else. ANd all of the people who see, and talk to people on the other side, well, if that is true then, we have more to look forward to when we die. I really believe that. Over on the other side is real, and this world is the illusion.

But I find my thoughts are with Leah & Al

Many of our thoughts are now with them, Bro, and we'll keep praying for them.

Yes Ed as we all wish for these things to change but we have no control over His plans and He do have a plan. Maybe He thinks Leah has suffered enough and He wants to take her pain away by taking her in His arms. We hurt because we are not ready to part with our loved ones, often we don't understand but we have to accept and believe in Him. I feel your pain within your write.

Newfie Hugs are with you, Rose

Ed,

Al and Leah in my prayers, as well: don't understand how God can take someone as loving as Leah. He has His reasons, though: why do any of us die? Not supposed to question, but we do - especially when two people love as deeply as they do. A sad, heartbreaking write - I, too, pray for strength for Al when the time does come.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :(
